our dusty home...

When we bought this house five years ago, we bought it because we saw potential. Over the last couple years it has seen a few remodeling phases (my least favorite being the flood that lead to a ceiling falling in while Jeremy was in Vegas...probably not Sara's favorite either!), but the time has come for the big one- going through the wall and connecting the downstairs. After having plans laid out and finding just the right contractors, last Tuesday construction began. And let me tell you our contractors didn't waste any time getting to work! Within an hour or so of being at the house there was a hole in the wall and you could see to the other side. Needless to say it has been a dusty mess, but surely 7 weeks will go quickly, right?! Maryn, Duke, and I are making our rounds to grandparents homes and just might show up on your doorstep one day :) Here is a sneak peek at the progress from just this week...enjoy! We can't wait to have a big party in our new space!!!!!

Bare bones of our previous kitchen and what will be our new kitchen. I am so excited to have cabinets!!

The apartment bedroom and what will be part of the kitchen

The apartment bathroom and what will be part of our living room. The wall with the door on it is coming down and will be moving over and turning into a half wall.

Another view of the old kitchen. We took out the sliding doors and the window in the corner. A new window will go in the middle of the wall ( you can kinda see it framed in).

From our dining room into the apartment living room. We will be keeping the current dining room and the apartment living room will become our new living room.
