a trip to the pumpkin patch...

This year we ventured to a new place to pick out our pumpkins.  We drove down to Apple Works in Trafalgar, IN.  It was a little over a hour drive and the last half was quite scenic.  It helped that is was a gorgeous day...must have been because it was Jeremy's birthday :)
I'm not sure why we thought it would not be that busy, but it was packed!  The kids did really well considering we had to wait in line to do just about everything.  Theo loved the tractor that pulled our wagon out to the patch.  I think that may have been the happiest time for him (he was pretty cranky most of the day).  We did a lot of walking through pumpkins and got just the perfect ones!  Maryn found a big bright orange one and Theo picked out two small green ones for he and Cormac.  The funny thing is that we didn't even think about getting cash before we left and found out once the tractor dropped us off that you had to pay for your pumpkins out by the field.  Luckily I had $10...our total came to $9.80!
Once we got back to "the mainland" we could use our card and enjoyed some apple cider, an apple dumpling, and a hot dog.  The kids liked the petting zoo and just being able to run outside.  Not sure that we'll go back, but enjoyed the beautiful day.  Hopefully Jeremy did too :)
Cormac's ready for the car ride down!
Looking pretty cute in her sunglasses :)
Mr. Cool with his shades and playdoh roller (you never know when you might need that)!
Bus drivers!
Up on the big haystack!
This pumpkin is bumpy, but not the one for me!
The perfect one to take home...now who is going to carry it??
